The Title Competition at Elite Performance Challenge Nationals consists of 3 parts: a solo competition, a brief introduction, and adjudicated master classes. Scores from all three parts of the competition will be combined to calculate the winner in each age division. Titles will be presented in Mini, Petite, Junior, Teen and Senior age divisions. Male, female and non-binary contestants will all compete together. There are no level or style categories within the Title competition meaning everyone is competing in one category in either the Mini, Petite, Junior, Teen or Senior division.
On the day of the title competition, all titleists will begin with a brief introduction of themselves. Contestants will be adjudicated on their poise, confidence and vocal articulation. This is an opportunity to show your personality to the judges. Introductions can include your name, age, hometown, how many years you have been dancing, your favorite style of dance, other hobbies or interests, fun facts about yourself, details about the piece you are performing, people in your life you would like to thank or wish good luck to as well as any other information you would like to share. Introductions should be no longer than 30 seconds and should be memorized. Introductions will take place right before your solo performance.
All title contestants will perform a solo in any style of their choice for a panel of 4 judges. Dancers will be scored on a 100 point system for a maximum total of 400 points. All judges will give vocal critiques however an adjudication award placement will not be given.
Each title contestant will participate in 3 master classes that will be adjudicated by 2 judges. Contestants will wear a number during class and
will be scored on choreography retention, technique and overall performance quality. The lowest scored class will be dropped and the top two will
be calculated into the overall score. There is no dress code for these classes, wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident.
Elite Dancers are allowed to participate in the title competition. They will take two classes and be adjudicated on them. They will assist in
the other class. The class that you are assisting will be the score that is dropped.
